Once he has completed repairs there he will go down to Chamber 3, and so on until you're able to access any of the 5 main chambers at will. From now on you'll be able to meet him in the hole left behind by the elevator in Chamber 2. Next time you go there he'll be waiting for you on the right side of the Breach by the boarded up doorway.
